Victor Amadeus III

Victor Amadeus I of Sardinia and III of Savoy (26 June 1726-16 October 1796) was the King of Savoy and the King of Sardinia from 1773 to 1796. During his rule, he allied with the Austrian Empire against the First French Empire, but when the capital of Turin fell to Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796, he was forced to become a protectorate of the French.
