
Vicente Lucio Salazar (20 December 1832-14 February 1896) was President of Ecuador from 16 April to 4 September 1895, succeeding Luis Cordero Crespo and preceding Eloy Alfaro.
Biography[]
Vicente Lucio Salazar was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1832, and he worked as an economist for 30 years and served as Minister of Finance in 1873, 1883, 1884-1887, 1888, and 1893. Salazar served as Vice President from 1894 to 1895, when he assumed the presidency on Luis Cordero Crespo's resignation. His president saw the beginning of a liberal revolution, and he was forced to resign after becoming paralyzed. He died in 1896.
