Valente Ferlita (1 April 1880-12 April 1945) was a politician of Fascist Italy under Benito Mussolini.
Biography[]
Valente Ferlita was born on 1 April 1880 in Matera, southern Italy to a middle-class family. Ferlita became a journalist and wrote in pro-war papers at the time of World War I, advocating Italian nationalism. Ferlita joined the National Fascist Party in 1921 and joined the Blackshirts, taking part in the March on Rome in 1922. After Benito Mussolini took power, he became the police chief of Matera. During World War II, Ferlita was promoted to work for the Ministry of the Interior, and he kept this post under the Italian Social Republic. Ferlita was captured by the Italian Resistance in April 1945 and executed as the war came to a close.
