Uscfrea Walker (846-) was a messenger in the service of King Alfred the Great of Wessex during the late 9th century AD. In 875 AD, he was sent to Kent to inform Tedmund that he was to be named ealdorman, stopping at the Tonbridge Inn along the way, and ultimately travelled to Dover Castle, where the Order of the Ancients' Paladins were trained. He was followed by the Hidden Ones, who were contacted by Abbot Cynebert to steal Uscfrea's letter and use it to discover the identity of the new ealdorman. Eivor snuck up on Uscfrea from a bush in the fortress, and he pickpocketed the letter from Uscfrea's pocket and ran off, sparing the messenger's life.
