Urbain Minard (died 1789) was a captain of the Royal French Army. Minard was killed during the storming of the Jardin du Luxembourg in 1789, the first death of the French Revolution.

Minard's death
Urbain Minard was born in Paris, the capital of the Kingdom of France, and became a captain in the city's guard. In 1789, he was ordered to guard the Jardin du Luxembourg during the party of the Marquis de Bullion, as a large crowd of hundreds of starving peasants gathered outside the mansion to protest the Marquis' treatment of the citizens of Paris.
Captain Minard ordered his small group of soldiers to aim their muskets at the crowd to prevent them from assaulting the chateau, which was heavily defended on the interior. However, Arno-Victor Dorian rushed up to him and stabbed him in the chest with his hidden blades, egging on the crowd to charge into the chateau and massacre the guests.
