Upper East Side

The Upper East Side is an affluent neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, located between Central Park and the East River. During the 20th century, several notable families moved into the UES, including the Carnegies, Rockefellers, Roosevelts, Kennedys, Whitneys, and Dukes, and the construction of the Second Avenue Subway caused property prices to rise. In 2000, 207,543 people lived on the Upper East Side.
