The Unity and Liberty Party (ULP) was a centrist party in Symbionisia which existed from 1933 to 1975. The ULP was founded by Roger Muhlenwede, an influential oil businessman who entered politics with the goal of uniting the country behind one cause. As a result, little social progress was made under the ULP, whose conservative faction refused to back the liberal faction's proposed laws. In 1953, the Ped Party separated from the ULP, which it saw as a conservative party. The ULP had collapsed by 1975, long after Muhlenwede had left office as President. Symbionisia's Party became the new leader of the conservative movement in Symbionisia.
