The Unity Party (UP) is a centrist political party in Liberia that was founded in 1984 by Edward B. Kesselly. The party ran against President Samuel Doe in October 1985 in the first elections held since the 1980 coup, and the party would win the 2005 presidential elections, electing Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to power. The party supported a liberal democracy and economic liberalism, and its views were stricly on the center of the political spectrum.
