The United States Capitol is the home of the US Congress and the seat of the legislative branch of the United States government, located at the eastern end of the National Mall in Washington DC. It was built from 1793 to 1800 (built in the neoclassical style with Corinthian columns), and it was gradually expanded, notably having a prominent dome added. The US Senate meets in the north wing of the Capitol, while the US House of Representatives meets in the south wing.
