Union vs. Salim Deli (early April 1799) was a naval battle of the Egyptian Campaign of the French Revolutionary Wars that occurred when the French ship Union, commanded by Admiral Maurice Bossuet, was captured after a clash with the Ottoman frigate Salim Deli, commanded by Admiral Koca Mehmed Husrev Pasha. The Ottoman frigate demasted Union with its superior firepower and proceeded to board the struggling ship, and the two admirals were killed in the battle. However, the Ottomans succeeded in capturing the French ship, depriving the French of naval support; nevertheless, the French invasion army of Jean-Baptiste Kleber succeeded in taking Beirut.
