Ubaidians

The Ubaidians was a West Asian civilization which existed from 6500 to 3800 BC. Named for the Tell al-Ubaid excavation site, the culture inhabited northern Mesopotamia, and, from 4500 to 4000 BC, the Ubaidians underwent rapid urbanization. They developed a trading system that stretched from the Mediterranean coast to Oman, but increased aridity led to the end of the Ubaidians around 3800 BC; for around 1,000 years, there was no human presence in the area.
