The National Alliance was a neo-Nazi, fascist, and white supremacist political party in the United States which was founded in 1974 by William Luther Pierce. It was founded from members of the National Youth Alliance, the remnants of the American Independent Party's youth movement during George Wallace's 1968 presidential bid. The party became the best-financed and best-organized white nationalist organization in the country, and, by 2002, it had 2,500 members and an annual income of $1 million. However, Pierce's death in 2002 led to a split in its ranks, and the group was barely functioning after 2005.
