UFCW Local 1262 is the local chapter of the United Food and Commercial Workers union in northern New Jersey and along the Hudson Valley in New York. The union represented food and commercial workers from stores such as Foodtown, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, Acme, Fairway Market, and Morton Williams, and it ensured on-the-job protections, excellent wages, pensions, medical and other benefits. On 16 March 2017, UFCW Local 1262 endorsed Democratic Party politician Phil Murphy during the gubernatorial election. In 2017, the UFCW boasted 30,000 members.
