The Republic of Tuva is a federal subject of Russia, with Kyzyl serving as its capital. The republic was established on 31 March 1992 as the successor of the Tuvan ASSR of the Russian SFSR, and a 32-member Great Khural parliament was formed in 1993. In 2010, Tuva had a population of 307,930.
