Tuscany

Tuscany is one of the twenty regions of Italy, located in the central region of the peninsula. With a capital of Florence, Tuscany was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, and it is also known for its wine, its beautiful landscape, and its rich history (often involving the wars between the multiple city-states) during the Middle Ages and Italian Wars. Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Pienza, and Val d'Orca are world heritage sites of the United Nations. The region had a population of 3,749,430 people, with 90% of the population being Italians.
