Turkish Serbs are an ethnic group of Serbia.
History[]
Turkish Serbs were introduced to the Balkans during the era of the Ottoman Empire, when the Turks conquered the Balkans from the Byzantine Empire, Austrian Empire, and the small principalities there since the 1300s. At the 1389 Battle of Kosovo Polje, the Turks conquered the region and spread Islam and their ethnicity. As of 2002, 3.9% of Serbians were Turks. Most of them were Muslims, with a small part of them being Christians.
