
Gerald Ambrose "Tuffy" Griffiths (1 January 1907-15 November 1968) was an American heavyweight boxer from Nebraska.
Biography[]
Gerald Ambrose Griffiths was born in Macy, Nebraska in 1907, and he fought his first professional bout on 11 December 1925. All of his early fights were fought in the Midwest, and he later relocated to New York City to gain more notoriety. He had won 50 consecutive fights before being defeated by James J. Braddock at Madison Square Garden on 30 November 1928, being knocked out in the second round. After the loss, he had a five-match win streak, and he fought his last bout on 6 September 1933. He died in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1968.
