Tsuyoshi Okudaira

Tsuyoshi Okudaira (died 30 May 1972) was a Japanese Red Army militant and one of the gunmen of the Lod Airport massacre.

Biography[]

Tsuyoshi Okudaira was born in Japan, and he joined the Japanese Red Army communist militant group. He trained in Baalbek, Lebanon with Kozo Okamoto and Yasuyuki Yasuda under the auspices of Wadie Haddad and the PFLP-EO, and Haddad sent them to attack Lod Airport in northern Israel in May 1972. Okudaira fired at passengers in the landing area, but he was killed by the premature explosion of one of his own grenades.
