Tsuneoki Ikeda (1536-18 May 1584) was a general of the Toyotomi clan. Hailing from Settsu Province, he was made Governor of Kii Province under Nobunaga Oda. A veteran of the Battle of Anegawa and the Battle of Nagashino, he was also a Buddhist priest. Tsuneoki later served under Hideyoshi Hashiba in the Battle of Yamazaki in 1582 and the Battle of Komaki-Nagakute in 1584. He defeated Ujishige Niwa in a duel early in the battle, and fought bravely. But when his son-in-law Nagayoshi Mori was shot from his horse, Tsuneoki's men were demoralized and Tsuneoki and his son Motosuke Ikeda were killed. Tsuneoki's head was impaled on a pike to demoralize the Toyotomi.
