Tribune Quintus (died 9 AD) was a tribune of the Roman Army during the 1st century AD. He served under Publius Quinctilius Varus during his campaigns in Germania, and, in 9 AD, he was introduced to the Roman client reik (chief) of the Cherusci, Arminius, whom he saw as nothing more than a barbarian in spite of his Roman upbringing. While Varus easily fell for his adoptive son Arminius' string of plots to lure his three Roman legions into an ambush by several Germanic tribes, Quintus was always suspicious of Arminius. Quintus' suspicions were proven correct at the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, during which the three legions were annihilated.
