Treaties of Tilsit

The Treaties of Tilsit were two agreements signed between Emperor Napoleon of France and Emperor Alexander II of Russia at Kaliningrad, East Prussia (now Sovetsk, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia) in July 1807. The agreements ceded Westphalia, Poland, and Danzig to France and formalized and recognized the cessions, and Napoleon also forced Prussia and Russia to side with him against the United Kingdom as partners in the Continental System.
