Toste the Goldsmith (5 March 827-) was a Norse goldsmith in the employ of Hastein during the late 9th century.
Biography[]
Toste was born in 827 to a Norse pagan family, and, in March 872, he travelled through Vannes, Brittany in search of work. When the Viking chieftain Hastein heard of Toste's arrival, he ordered him to make a fine set of crown jewels, and he made him an iron crown and an engraved sword.
