Toshiki Tamura (24 September 1899 – 29 May 1945) was a colonel of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II.
Biography[]
Toshiki Tamura commanded a regiment of Japanese troops during the battle of Okinawa in World War II, and Tamura defended Shuri Castle to the death with many other Japanese commanders. Tamura was gunned down in the courtyard of the castle by United States marine troops on 29 May 1945.
