
Toru Doi (born 1958) was a Liberal Democratic Party of Japan politician.
Biography[]
Toru Doi was born in Kurokawa, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan in 1958. He graduated from the Tohoko Gakuin University School of Law in 1981, and he served in the Miyagi Prefecture Assembly for ten years as a Jiminto politician. In 2005, he was elected to the National Diet, representing Miyagi's 1st district. He supported revising the Constitution, a unicameral legislature, the right of collective self-defense, the relocation of the US Marine Corps base on Okinawa, and a strong attitude towards China, while he opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
