Tony Cutts was a Union Army officer who commanded an artillery battery in the 3rd Division, I Corps, Army of the Potomac during the American Civil War. As a major, he was given command of a battery in the new division following the Battle of River Dam Hill in October 1861. He was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel after fighting at the bloody Battle of Shiloh in April 1862 and to Colonel following the Battle of Gaines' Mill on 27 June 1862.
