Tony Bellamy

Robert Anthony Bellamy (12 September 1946-25 December 2009) was a Yaqui-Mexican musician and the lead guitarist for the Native American-Mexican band Redbone. Raised in Las Vegas, he joined Redbone in 1968. The band recorded a song called "We Were All Wounded at Wounded Knee" in solidarity with the American Indian Movement's Wounded Knee occupation, and the massive success of the band's 1974 song "Come and Get Your Love" helped pave the way for the success of American Indian artists in the future. Bellamy left the band in 1977 and died in 2009.
