Tomokazu Takahata (1955-) was a Japanese producer who was President of Dotonbori Productions during the 2000s. Based in Osaka, he helped to scout and elevate talent to celebrity status, and his clients included the famed actress Sakura Fukunaga and the singer Oharu Miyano. In December 2006, he attempted to persuade Kazuma Kiryu to sign over his ward Haruka Sawamura to the company for her schooling and idol training, but Haruka convinced her reluctant adoptive father that she wanted to remain with him in spite of the danger, and Kiryu made up for Haruka's refusal by introducing Takahata to Oharu, who made her singing debut that same month.
