Tomas Romero Pereira (4 October 1886-12 August 1982) was President of Paraguay from 4 May to 15 August 1954, succeeding Federico Chaves and preceding Alfredo Stroessner.
Biography[]
Tomas Romero Pereira was born in Encarnacion, Paraguay in 1886, and he worked as an architect before entering politics with the Colorado Party of Paraguay. General Alfredo Stroessner appointed him President following his 1954 coup, and Romero quickly held elections which fraudulently elected Stroessner president. Romero died in Asuncion in 1982.
