Tom Bowie was an American poltiician who served as the American Freedom Party's vice-presidential nominee at the 2016 presidential election, running alongside Kenn Gividen. A resident of Zinc, Arkansas, Bowie worked as a firefighter before becoming involved in white nationalist politics. He posted on Stormfront more than 3,100 times and frequently appeared on the Pro-White American Radio Show on TalkShoe.com. While Bowie was infamous for his far-right rhetoric, he did not identify with Nazism and instead identified as "pro-white"; he also said that, while he had no animosity towards non-whites, he only hated white people whom he perceived to be "anti-white." Starting in 2023, Bowie came to interact with several Black social media influencers who visited nearby Harrison, Arkansas - reputed to be "the most racist town in America" - and he became famous for his politically incorrect sense of humor, his honesty, and his willingness to engage in civil discussions with influencers who held very different political views. After Jidon Adams was made an "Ambassador of Peace" for Harrison by the city's mayor Jerry Jackson, Adams invited Bowie to attend the ceremony and credited him with bolstering the success of the videos, which in turn led to a gradual shift in racial attitudes in Harrison. In his acceptance speech, Adams stated that chaos would ensue when people were no longer capable of having civil conversations, and Bowie - who had previously expressed a strong hatred for Jackson for supposedly being "anti-white" (despite Jackson being a conservative Republican) - ultimately shook hands with the mayor after joking that he was the "evil man" Jackson had likely heard about.
