Tisandros of Mykonos

Tisandros of Mykonos (473-429 BC) was an Athenian strategos during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography[]

Tisandros was born on the Greek island of Mykonos in 473 BC, and he rose to command Podarkes' elite Athenian guard during the Peloponnesian War. In 429 BC, amid the Delian rebellion, he was assassinated by the Spartan mercenary Kassandra at the Suenites Quarry.
