The Tiran-6 is an Israeli variant of the Soviet T-54/55 tank. After the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel repaired, modernized, and put into service 200 captured Soviet tanks, and the Tiran-6 was the result of the modernization of the captured tanks. The Tiran tanks were phased out of service during the 1980s, but Israel still owned 126 in 2006.
