
Timariot Koza of Damascus (1230-) was the timariot of Damascus under the Qutuzid Sultanate.
Biography[]
Koza was born in 1230 to a family of Sunni Muslim Cumans, and he became the timariot of Damascus under the Qutuzid Sultanate. In 1260, the 46,000-strong Ilkhanate army of Hulegu Khan besieged the city of Damascus and killed all 1,683 defenders with 672 losses, and they proceeded to sack the city in the "fall of Damascus".
