
Timariot Dogukan of Akroynon (1232-) was a preacher in the service of Sultan Kilij Arslan IV of Rum.
Biography[]
Dogukan was born in Akroynon in the Sultanate of Rum (present-day Afyonkarahisar, Afyon Province, Turkey) to a Sunni Muslim family of Turks. He became the timariot of Akroynon and a missionary of his sultan, Kilij Arslan IV of Rum. In 1260, Dogukan was welcomed to the court of Sultan Hulegu Khan in Qom and allowed to continue missionary work.
