Timariot Bashar of Awas

Timariot Bashar of Awas (1232-) was the timariot of Awas under the Qutuzid Sultanate.

Biography[]

Bashar was born in 1232 to a family of Sunni Muslim Levantines, and he was appointed as the Timariot of Awas in Druz, Syria by the Qutuzid Sultanate. He married Timariota Munawwar of Awas, and in 1266 the Ilkhanate captured his wife and his young son Wahid ibn Bashar during their capture of Awas. The Ilkhanids ransomed them back to Bashar for an amount of gold.
