Major Timothy "Tim" Kerry (died 2003) was an American aviator in the US Marine Corps who was a designated "nuclear football" carrier onboard Air Force One in 2003. Kerry developed an intimate relationship with US Secret Service agent Caitlin Todd, which was forbidden in both of their jobs.
In 2003, Kerry became sick with the flu; as a result, Kerry's friend and decorated US Navy aviator, Commander Ray Trapp, was designated as the new carrier. However, Trapp was killed by a stroke caused by coastal taipan venom planted on him at the same dry cleaning establishment Kerry used. When Kerry and Todd rendezvoused for drinks at their favorite bar in Georgetown, Washington, D. C., Todd broke off the relationship.
Soon after Kerry walked Todd to her car, Kerry was affected by the venom and eventually died of a stroke inside his car. His death led the NCIS Major Case Response Team to discover an assassination plot against President George W. Bush and the apprehension of an al-Qaeda cell led out of the dry cleaning business.
