Tilman Dexter

Tilman Dexter (818-) was an Anglo-Saxon man who lived in Canterbury, Kent during the late 9th century AD. He was the owner of the "pig of prophecy", Matilda the Seer, whom he purchased from a local market. He brought the pig to the Dorobernia Theater, where he charged visitors a fee to communicate with the pig after drinking some spiked water which allowed for the pig's grunts to turn into riddles. In 875, the Viking warrior Eivor came to the theatre to meet the pig, and he was fascinated by the pig's ability to come up with a slew of enigmatic riddles.
