The Tiger I was a heavy tank built by Nazi Germany from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. 1,347 Tiger I tanks were built during the war, and it first saw action in North Africa. Its name "Tiger" was given to it by Ferdinand Porsche, who helped in the production of the Tiger tanks.
