Tiflis Governorate was a government of the Russian Empire that existed from 1846 to 1917. Its capital was Tiflis (Tbilisi) in the modern-day Republic of Georgia, and it was established upon the creation of the Caucasus Viceroyalty from territories conquered from the North Caucasian peoples. In 1917, the governorate became a part of the newly-independent Democratic Republic of Georgia during the Russian Civil War.
