
Thomas Settle (9 March 1789-5 August 1857) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NC 9) from 4 March 1817 to 3 March 1821, succeeding Bartlett Yancey and preceding Romulus M. Saunders.
Biography[]
Thomas Settle was born in Reidsville, North Carolina in 1789, and he became a lawyer in Wentworth in 1812. He was elected to the House of Commons in 1816 before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1817 to 1821, and he served as judge of the superior court of North Carolina from 1832 until his death in 1857.
