Thomas Percy, 1st Earl of Worcester (1343-23 July 1403) was an English nobleman who took part in the House of Percy's failed 1403 rebellion against King Henry IV of England.
Biography[]
Thomas Percy was the younger son of Henry de Percy, 3rd Baron Percy, and he fought against France during the Hundred Years' War before serving as an ambassador and seneschal there. From 1384 to 1385, he served as Admiral of the North, and he was created Earl of Worcester in 1397 by King Richard II of England. In 1403, he joined his elder brother Henry Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland and his nephew Harry Hotspur in rebelling against King Henry IV of England, and he was captured at the Battle of Shrewsbury and beheaded two days later.
