
Thomas Neel Stilwell (29 August 1830-14 January 1874) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IN 11) from 4 March 1865 to 3 March 1867, succeeding James F. McDowell and preceding John P.C. Shanks.
Biography[]
Thomas Neel Stilwell was born in Stilwell, Ohio in 1830, and he became a lawyer in Anderson, Indiana in 1852. He served in the State House in 1856, in the Union Army during the American Civil War, in the US House of Representatives from 1865 to 1867, and as ambassador to Venezuela from 1867 to 1868. He died in 1874.
