
Thomas Hardeman Jr. (12 January 1825-6 March 1891) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-GA 3) from 4 March 1859 to 21 January 1861 (succeeding Robert P. Trippe) and from GA-AL 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1885 (preceding George T. Barnes).
Biography[]
Thomas Hardeman Jr. was born in Eatonton, Georgia in 1825, and he became a lawyer in 1847 and served in the state house in 1853, 1855, and 1857. He served as a Whig congressman from 1859 to 1861 before serving as colonel of the 45th Georgia Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War and in the state house. After the war, he served as speaker of the state house from 1875 to 1877 and in the US House of Representatives from 1883 to 1885, and he died in Macon in 1891.
