Thomas Griffin

Thomas Griffin (1773-7 October 1837) was a member of the US House of Representatives (F-VA 12) from 4 March 1803 to 3 March 1805, succeeding John Stratton and preceding Burwell Bassett.

Biography[]

Thomas Griffin was born in Yorktown, Virginia in 1773, and he worked as a lawyer before serving in the House of Delegates from 1793 to 1800, as an oyer and terminer judge from 1796 to 1810, a member of the US House of Representatives from 1803 to 1805, as chairman of the oyer and terminer court from 1814 to 1820, and again in the House of Delegates from 1819 to 1823 and from 1827 to 1830. He died in 1837.
