Thomas Dunson (1820) was an American Rancher who during the Wild West era, herded cattle up to Kansas in the years following the conclusion of the American Civil War. Dunson was a hard-nosed leader who pushed his cowboys way to hard, and his strict, authoritarian ways cause his adopted son Matt Garth to take the cowboys and the herd to Kanas for Dunson, while leaving him behind. After a brief conflict, Dunson and Garth bury the hatchet and work together again, creating the Dunson Ranch.
