Thomas Boles

Thomas Boles (16 July 1837-13 March 1905) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-AR 3) from 22 June 1868 to 3 March 1871 (preceding John Edwards) and from 9 February 1872 to 3 March 1873 (succeeding Edwards and preceding William W. Wilshire).

Biography[]

Thomas Boles was born in Clarksville, Arkansas in 1837, and he became a deputy sheriff in Yell County in 1858 and became a lawyer in Danville in 1860. He served in the Union Army during the American Civil War, as a circuit judge from 1865 to 1868, and in the US House of Representatives from 1868 to 1871 and from 1872 to 1873. He served as US Marshal for the Western District of Arkansas from 1881 to 1889, and he died in 1905.
