Thieves' Landing was a settlement and port in Calhoun County, Texas which was known as an outlaw den during the Wild West era. During the 1890s, Thieves' Landing was an undeveloped swamp settlement which served as an outpost of the Del Lobo Gang, and it remained such even into the 1900s. By 1911, however, Thieves' Landing had become a minor port town, and the Bollard Twins gang established a presence in the town in the absence of the Del Lobos. Thieves' Landing was known for its lawlessness, and it was the site of frequent shootouts, drunken brawls, and murders.
