The Thessalians were an Ancient Greek tribe who inhabited present-day Thessaly in northern Greece. During the 12th century BC, Triopas reigned over Thessaly, which was the last region of Greece to submit to King Agamemnon of Athens. During the 5th century BC, the Thessalians united as the Thessalian League, which was incorporated into Macedon under King Philip II of Macedon.
