Theophilus Danjuma (9 December 1938-) was Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army from October 1979 to April 1980, succeeding David Ejoor and preceding Ipoola Alani Akinrinade.
Biography[]
Theophilus Danjuma was born on 9 December 1938 in Takum, Taraba State, Nigeria to a Protestant family. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army in 1960 and served in the United Nations peacekeeping mission during the Congo Crisis, and in 1966 he took part in the July Counter Coup. In 1967, he was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel during the Nigerian Civil War, and in 1976 he put down Buka Suka Dimka's coup. From 1979 to 1980 he was Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army, and he retired that year. From 1999 to 2003 he was Minister of Defense, preceding Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
