
Theodore Trithyrius (602-20 August 636), also known as Theodore the Sacellarius, was a general of the Byzantine Empire during the 7th century AD.
Biography[]
Theodore Trithyrius was born in Antioch, Syria, Byzantine Empire in 602 to a Greek Christian family, and he became treasurer of the empire under Heraclius. In 634, he was sent to replace Heraclius' brother Theodore as commander of the Byzantine army in the Levant following the Battle of Ajnadayn. He was defeated and killed at the Battle of Yarmouk on 20 August 636.
