Theobald Butler, 4th Chief Butler of Ireland (1242-26 September 1285) was Chief Butler of Ireland from 1248 to 1285, succeeding Theobald Butler, 3rd Chief Butler of Ireland and preceding Theobald Butler, 5th Chief Butler of Ireland.
Biography[]
Theobald Butler was the son of Theobald Butler, 3rd Chief Butler of Ireland, and he succeeded his father as Chief Butler in 1248. Theobald assisted King Edward I of England during his wars with Scotland, and he died at Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland on 26 September 1285 at the age of 43.
